Carmet Marine Limited delivers one of two container barge vessels newly built for Cory Environmental

On the 10th May 2017 the shipyard based in Bromborough, Wirral owned and operated by Carmet Marine Ltd has delivered one of two Container Barges for Cory Riverside. The delivered Barge ‘Ashford’ will go into service to transfer Incinerated Ash from Cory’s Riverside Resources Recovery Energy from its Waste facility, situated on the banks of the River Thames in the London Borough of Bexley. Sealed containers of ash will be loaded on to the Barge, where they will be taken to a processing plant at the Port of Tilbury.

Neil Caborn, Cory’s General Manager attended Carmet Marine Shipyard on the 10th May 2017 to formally accept the handover from Brett Metcalfe, Managing Director for Carmet Marine. The delivered barge ‘Ashford’ is 48 metres in length and an 8 metre metres. The Ashford was towed safely to the Thames from the Carmet Marine Shipyard by the tug ‘Venture’ which is owned by Carmet Tug Co Ltd.

On the 10th May 2017 a further order has since been placed by Cory Environmental General Manager, Neil Caborn for Carmet Marine Limited to build the sister vessel ‘Asher’ due for completion by October 2017.
